When the technique is right and it still goes wrong
Have you ever heard someone say "I hear what you are saying" and felt with absolute certainty that they did not hear you at all? That is what communication training usually produces: people who know the technique and miss the person.
I taught communication skills for many years, and I know every trick. Open questions, I-messages, starting from common ground. In my TEDx talk I confess what happened when I tried them all on my wife: she felt manipulated, and she was right. Any communication strategy becomes hollow when the intention behind it is missing. The skill matters, but the intention carries it.
So this training teaches both. The craft of clear, careful communication, and the ground it has to grow from: a genuine willingness to understand the other person, even when you disagree. Especially when you disagree.

What we practice
- Nonviolent Communication. Marshall Rosenberg's framework, done properly: observations instead of judgments, and the courage to name your own feelings and needs instead of hiding behind formats.
- Deep Democracy. Unlocking the wisdom of the minority voice: the colleague who disagrees, the doubt nobody speaks. Decisions become better and lighter when every voice has truly been heard.
- Difficult conversations with compassion. Bringing the hard message without softening it into mush and without hardening it into an attack. Clear about the issue, warm toward the person.
- Listening that people can feel. Genuinely stepping into the other person's shoes. Not the technique of paraphrasing, but the experience of being understood.
The way of working is experiential: real conversations from your own practice, not roleplay scripts. Expect to practice the conversation you have been postponing. We deliver this as one- or two-day training days, focused leadership training on feedback and difficult messages, or longer trajectories spread over weeks and months.
